We think we are about to pull the trigger on a lightly used Q4 45.

It will be a town car - my car is the main family wagon for hauling child, dog, pram etc.

Anything to watch out for? I have heard mixed reviews with some of the keener drivers not liking the brakes and some patchiness in the infotainment. But I was wondering if the updates where the 40 and 50 became the 45 and 55 etc had improved things?

We weren't looking for a Q4 we were lease hunting initially, deals are thin on the ground. We are taking advantage of what I can only see as being brutal depreciation - with a 50K car now being in my sight at very very low 30's after 11 months.

Although the Enyaq SEL lease is tempting. Being honest I think this is purely coming down to it's an Audi and my other half not quite being ready to accept she really should have an Enyaq.

We immediately ruled out the Mini Aceman upon seeing the boot, but we also weren't looking for a car the size of the Q4 (I had never actually poked about one and was shocked how big it was internally)

We were keen ish on EV Countryman but the salesman was really a bit of a sosej so we ended up leaving.

Anything else I am missing, ID4 is really drab and I even think the other half would go Enyaq over that. Also flirted with a Mach E RWD Select, but that really is massive, and it was purely on looks! (you can see a theme here)

Anything else I am missing? Preferably looking for a bargain, it doesn't have to be cheap per se, but want to warm fuzzy glow of thinking I have won ha.

How about a Jaguar I-Pace? Stunning value now for what was an £85k car a few years ago.

On the alternatives front, Polestar 2? If it's big enough inside. The single motors are now RWD and 300hp so should be decently quick. Some at delivery mileage just over £30k.

Thanks all.

Tavascan is definitely in the mix, I think it is sort of ugly but there is a lease deal knocking about it seems.

The JAAGGG I think the reliability might scare me although is there a warranty for them?

I think if I was going down that route I would probably get stuck into an original E Tron, Bang an Audi warranty on it etc.

Although the Jag is the cooler, better looking car. Jag really don't get enough credit for the iPace and it is such a shame they let it rot....

You could get an approved used I-Pace, with a 1 year warranty, and then extend it for up to another 3 years (I think) at c £800 a year.

What I don't know is whether parts supply is sorted out now, I know some owners even with a warranty spent months waiting for repairs, which isn't ideal.

What about the Skoda Elroq if the Enyaq is a bit bigger than you wanted? Some good discounts - easier to keep the original list price under £40k too than with the Enyaq if you want to avoid the Luxury car supplement tax thingy.

85 Edition with metallic paint stays under £40k - just ordered one on salary sacrifice for my wife to replace her Born.

We shall find out the hard way!

Pulled the trigger on the Q4.

45 S Line, 11 months old, 3,400 miles roughly 20 grand cheaper than its supposed list price. It might drop a bit more....

The other half was sold on it. I took it for a spin last night after we picked it up.

The brakes are as spongey as the reviews would have you believe but apart from that, it really is a lovely car. There is some serious bargains to be had in this second hand EV market. Certainly saw enough during this brief car hunt to make me think twice about whether I will dive into another sal sac once my i5 touring goes back in 18 months

i had an original Q4 40 black edition. Hated it Really poor cabin quality, air con broke for over a year (had to wait on "software fix) bad brakes. The range was ok though.
