How many miles is too many miles on an Aventador
Discussion
No such thing as too many miles, (engines very rarely go wrong) most common weak points are the rear shocks can leak (should be replaced as a pair and are expensive), most concerning problem with these is the gearbox.
Luckily for owners now (especially based in the U.K) there is a guy who is a specialist with aventador gearbox repair, and rebuilds.
He is based in Leicester and repairs gearboxes sent to him from all over europe.
I had an in depth discussion with him before deciding not to renew my official warranty due to the crazy cost of approx 10k per year. Before the price increase, official warranty on these was 6.6k.
He has said he can pretty much sort any gearbox issue out for 5k or less.
Usually what happens is the gear selector forks wear out, and the car forces itself into neutral and you are stuck at the side of the road. Lamborghini do not repair, they only replace the gearbox at a cost of about 30k fitted.
So many owners have had gearbox replacements over the years under warranty, (I have had 3 gearbox replacements across 2 differerent cars) the warranty is now 10k ish, probably due to so many gearbox claims.
I would try and get an SV or S model year or newer if you can..... I drove a 2015 year roadster, and was dissapointed, the later model S varient with the 4 wheel steer is much better..

I think they can definitely take the miles - a couple with c. 100k km for sale
And this one - good job in 6ish years

Not sure if I am allowed to put any links on here, This is the business name / address:
Race Engine Build
Unit 11, Walton New Road Industrial Estate, Upper Bruntingthorpe, LE17 5RD
Just to add, I passed on the above details to a fellow aventador owner who was having the typical issues with the gearbox forcing itself into neutral. He had already wasted money with the main dealer.
Gearbox was fixed, with 2 or 3 new gear selector forks fitted with no issues in the last 500 miles or so....
If I have any gearbox issues in the future, I will only be sending the car to him....

I sold my previous Aventador S with 20k miles and no issues to report. I met the new owner at a car event recently and its now done 32k!
I think if he tried to sell that it would be hanging around for a very very long time. Even if no issues any Aventadors above 20k miles IMHO would be a hard shift.

Given Simon George put over 300k on his Murcielago you'd think an Aventador could handle 50k+ with some ease
It s rather scary though when you see how many clutches and engine rebuilds it s had though
