Gearbox trouble??

I've just changed my clutch after 10 fingers fell off the old one:(. I put it all back together, everything going fine for the ACE tomorrow, BUT....
when i reversed it out of the garage it didn't feel right, it felt as tho the gear stick was not located in the gearbox properly, I managed to select 5th and drove it back into the garage. It would appear the stick was located properly, as far as I could tell, but now I can't select ANY gear, or more to the point get it out of the gear its in.
The clutch seems to be working 'cos I can roll the car with the clutch depressed, but not with it 'up'.
I can't work out what's happened, The only thing I can think of (and I cant believe it's the case) is that when the fingers fell off, to get the car to a safe place to stop I had to bump start the car a couple of times with the ignition, and somehow buggered the G.box.
Anybody got any ideas, before I go ripping the box out again?

Does it feel like the clutch is dragging? Did you bleed the slaave with the ports at 12 and 6 oclock? It took a few days for my car to return to normal after the clutch change. I assumed it was the slave positioning its self and the last bit of air coming out the system.
Take it out for a spin and see how you get on. When you come to a junction pump the pedal, to remove any air. You could also try depressing the pedal over night, using a block of wood. This would encourage the air to come back through the master cylinder.
I dont think you have mashed the box mate!

Mark....bit of a long shot, but.....did you locate the gear stick into the box properly?...not having ever had the stick out of mine, I assume its a 'fork' type of configuration. Is it possible you have managed to get this back into the box so that some gears could be selected, but has now managed to jam its self so the car is in gear....might be worth removing to investigate...

Oh yeah thats true, also (an I dont mean to sound a tw@t) but did you refill the gearbox oil?
what if I initially put the gear stick into the box wrong, then whilst moving it dislodged some of the internal linkage inside the box!! 
It's Sorted. 
Just had a chat with Julian (trackcar) He mentioned that the 'ball' on the end of the gearstick sits inside a nilon 'cup'.
Although I looked in the gearbox yesterday, I had a better look today, and sure enough there was the nilon cup, but it had fallen out of its hole in the linkage, and it was sitting under the linkage instead. Which is why I didn't see it before and why I couldn't move the stick into gear.

Nice one Mark, glad it's sorted and didn't turn out to be anything disasterous.
Can I ask, what do you use to get the car up in the air? Just axle stands?
I've still got to tackle pulling the engine from mine, and I'm putting it off a bit tbh,
Still haven't sorted my garage, but will hopefully have another crack this w/e.

you're in big trouble now mate, I would send you out to the garage but I don't think you you would see it as punishment
