Guys have no IT dept at work. So, open question here just to see.

Trying to get rid of old Windows laptops etc for licensing cost updates etc at work.

I have to program a chip on a PCB with a flash .exe program on a Windows 10 laptop. We would like to get rid of the laptop.

We run all the other stuff on an Android tablet. Is there anyway you can convert that file that runs on Windows, so that you could run it on an Android tablet?

I think Winlator does this.

At a guess - probably not - i'd imagine that the app you have is some custom propietary flashing tool that was writted as a windows exe just for that purpose. I suspect that even if you could get some emulator thing to run on some other platform to allow it to run, it may struggle to talk to the hardware correctly (e.g a serial port / USB).

Do you have any more details on the exe - can you find the company that originally released it and see if they have a more modern app?

If the only purpose of the laptop is to flash a PCB there must be an equivalent under android but I am afraid I don't know what that would be. If its bespoke you might find it tough to replcate
