Had my Cube Aim Pro Hardtail MTB for over 7 years.
Most of my riding is actually on the roads so it hasn't had a hard life.
Nevertheless it is looking a bit sorry for itself so I am planning to replace stuff that is naturally worn.

The seat, forks, handlebars are fine and I have just replaced both tyres.
What I am thinking of replacing is the pedals, chain, brakes(disc), cassette and front sprockets.
Not sure about any other parts for the gears that I should change.
Gears are Shimano and I am just looking at keeping everything stock.

So being new to all this what should I be buying and where should I buy this stuff from?
Could someone in the know please enlighten me. Cheers.

I wouldn't be replacing stuff unnecessarily. Just give it a clean, and lube the bits that need it.

New chain a good call, but I’d be surprised if it needs new cassette etc unless it’s skipping or has a noticeable worn profile on the sprockets you use most.

Discs probably ok, check pads.

Replace derailleur cable inners and outers.

I'd replace the chain, gear cables (outer and inners), change the brake fluid and bleed them properly. Check the pedal and wheel bearings for play and replace if necessary, but otherwise just give it a wash and degrease/relube

As said, try a deep clean and re grease before you replace anything unless it is obviously damaged/worn.

If you do need anything I would recommend bikeparts.co.uk. I've bought loads from them recently while fixing my own and my daughters bikes

If you use the link below we both get a discount

Thanks for all your replies.
Going to give it a good clean this weekend and take it from there.

If it's had the same drivetrain for 7 years (or even a few years) I'd replace chain, cassette, chainrings and possibly rear mech at the same time. Shimano Deore is excellent value and you could also upgrade to 1x11 or 1x12 at the same time with an 11-51 cassette.

and, as above, bikeparts are excellent and you'd get all that for circa £150.
