No conveyancing firms offer ID verification for LR ID1 Form
Discussion
Per the title really, I was bought out of my property by my Ex Wife some time ago and the time has come to be removed off the title/mortgage....this is all in place but I cannot find a single local firm that will offer the ID verification service!
I have now called 10 firms, responses have been a flat 'No, sorry' to 'No it's too risky' to my favourite.....'We don't know your identity so can't verify it'.....which seems entirely odd, considering this will be done with every conveyancing action that takes place.
Bit of a rant really, it seems ridiculous the LR needs a conveyancer to witness these things but none offer the service.
I guess, has anyone used an online service they recommend? I believe it can be done by video call.
I have reached out to the conveyancer that sent me the papers (i.e. act for my ex-wife) but assume they won't act for me. I don't have a conveyancer as I have already been paid out etc.

My husband has body dysmorphic disorder and really struggles with having his photo taken.
When we last sold a property we reluctantly did passport photo's at a booth thing and submitted the forms. The buyers solicitor was overly difficult and delayed completion unnecessarily to the point that the ID1 forms were no longer valid (I think it was three months).
They asked us to resubmit ID1 forms. We told them where to go.
After many requests and refusals it all eventually went through with LR without ID1 forms on the basis that they had done everything in their power to obtain ID1 forms from us but were unsuccessful.
