Le manoir de l'automobile - Brittany

Wow, what a place if you've not been.
Drive to the museum on the always pristine French roads on a Sunday morning up from Saint Nazaire was bliss even in a dad mobile estate Passat.
Monsieur Hommell certainly has some great cars in this place, the decor and feel of the place should never be changed. The Autumn morning sunlight light coming through was fantastic. I cannot still believe how much nostalgia was in this place, I cannot imagine how you'd ever get rid of it all.
My new car crush is officially an Alpine A110, I've not seen many of these but looked massive fun. At 50k for a used one, a 5 year old and golf clubs not sure I could buy one though which is a shame.

It's great isn't it. I was there just last Sunday.
Loads of stuff and, as it's mostly French, things you don't see at your average British museum or car show. I loved the Alpines. Plus Ferraris, Lambos and a couple of Jags and Triumphs sneaking in, including a Silk Cut special. Also, again in a typically French way, really idiosyncratic; the engine chapel is random and what's the giant organ doing upstairs?
Edit: seen your other thread and think therefore it was yourself I replied to about the football game in Rennes. Hope you had a good trip. We also went to Fougeres, as well as Josselin and St Malo. Never been to Brittany before, lovely place.

We must be the weekly Brits visit this time of year @tomthetyke ! What a set of roads around there it was, the autumn leaves just gorgeous.
I did wonder how it keeps open as well, he must be spending a bloody fortune on electricity alone to keep it running.
That said, I guess he has 400 cars in there at say an average of 50k each so it's capital he can lean on. I noticed for instance a Williams F1 wasn't in the F1 row but was in some historic pictures.
Looked like he had some areas to facilitate big meets for cars and corporate events as well so maybe a revenue stream.
Other faux pas we made was somehow managed to not follow the loops so went backwards lol.
