The Yaris has developed a knocking noise when I turn tightly at slow speed. I'm not on lock so not forcing the power steering. Any ideas. Its been like it for 4 months now.
Si
If it's a rhythmic knock, knock, knock which changes with vehicle speed then it's probably a driveshaft universal joint. Unusual on a fairly new car, unless it's done an inter-stellar mileage.
Just normally 3 or 4 knocks. Its only done 15k over 3 years because I only use it in the holidays. So I didn't think it was a CV joint. But my left front tire on the outside edge is screwed but this may be just fast driving and fact over tire is a cheap kwik fit. I will ask when goes in for christmas or tire change.
Is that tyre rubbing on something as you steer the wheel?
I doubt it there standard wheels and massive wheel arches. But thanks for the suggestion.
