Paint Scanning London Surrey Middlesex Recommendations
Discussion
Sorry, don't know any places down there. Why do you need it scanned? Is it a custom colour? What's your make and model and year, cant you get the paint code from the info in the car stickers etc? I'm a painter and very rarely have to scan for colour its usually hidden somewhere on the vehicle dependant on make and model.
Not scanning, but I take my car to a local paint supplier and give them the code (never not been able to find a colour code yet). Then they dig out 2-5 samples, which are ever so slight variations of the shade, and physically check the swatch against the paint on the car to find the best match (their eyes are better than mine! I can't always see the difference or the best match).
Only once have I had an issue where a car had been resprayed in a "not quite" shade, their colour swatches didn't match. I was able to give them the fuel filler flap and leave it with them, and a day later they'd found a match but I'm not sure if it were by using a scanner or by going through many different swatches to find an exact match, or some other method.

It’s for a 77 Trans Am
Although a white car originally and still white it has no doubt had quite a few bits of paint done in the past so any factory code may be totally different to what’s on there
It’s not a mint car , I just want to touch up a few light chips and stuff to improve it a little
Thanks for the New Malden link I’ll give them a go

Wow, lovely car, yeah, you definitely need it scanned in that case! Airbrushing the 'firebird' on a Trans Am bonnet (hood!) is on my bucket list!!Although a white car originally and still white it has no doubt had quite a few bits of paint done in the past so any factory code may be totally different to what s on there
