Congratulations. They're excellent bikes. It'll sound even better with that exhaust, too.

The Honda genuine bar risers are well worth the investment to take the edge off the riding position, mine was a bit too "sport" rather than "tour" for me until I fitted these.

The styling of that one really is cracking, though not as nice, to me, as the first VTEC one. I'm still of the view that it should have gone to being a 1,000 rather than a VTEC.

Just back, I must have ridden the entire Peak District having got lost ten times, going down tiny lanes, tight hairpins etc.

The bike has gone from spotless to to a sort of dusty colour but the rain held off.

Its an eager thing and just takes off when in 6th which surprised me. For such a small bike its stable on the motorway too and I dont think Ive counter-steered soo much in my life. That was a surprise.

I'd have taken a pic but I killed the phone battery using maps.

They’re a great bike. My son has the last one registered in the UK. He loves it. He’s done trackdays and euro tours on it. We recently went around northern Spain. We did swap and to be honest I found it really uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to get back on my CBF which is uber comfy but not as sharp handling. So the recommendation above of the bar risers is a good one imho. That said, I find my Fireblade relatively comfortable to tour on, yet the riding position is more extreme…..so go figure. But the sound when the VTEC kicks in

Like so many Honda products they are well made, reliable and a lot of fun!

The factory heated grips can come loose in time so keep an eye on those. Enjoy that addictive VTEC changeover!

Nice bike and I like the red. My brother recently bought one.

It's such a shame that Honda didn't make the VFR1200 a 1200cc version of these. I'm sure they would have sold more had they done so. From dominating the sport touring market in the 90's with the ST1100, the Blackbird and the VFR800 they managed to successfully "shoot themselves in the foot".

Be wary of those bar conversions. I had I think Helibars on my 1200 (previous owner fitted) and I have a feeling they contributed to hurting my back more than the original clip on style ones. It gave a sort of curved back position - obviously depends on your body shape....

Good call! I watched that lastnight and thought 'I've seen that bike somewhere' and concluded I must have seen an advert for that bike on autotrader or something. I then spent sometime looking at VFRs on eBay. Not good when the garage I use may well be out of bounds in a few months.

A thought this evening was regret I'd been away from bikes for so long and how different I'd have been if I'd done it years ago. Spilt milk etc.
