When I reduced speed and my revs reach about 2000-2500 I get a loud clatter sound which appears to be coming from my engine bay. All seems fine when I accelerate, and my clutch appears to be ok.I have just had a new exhaust fitted and am thinking it could be associated with that. Can anyone advise?

This is the most likely problem! The exhaust has so little clearance along the chassis, any slight misalignment of the exhaust, will vibrate against the chassis under either acceleration/de-acceleration/turning hard to left/right...(not nessesarily all these)...Also the CATS, due to their size is one of the most common points for the exhaust to come in contact with the chassis....

Got my bypass pipes today (thanks Mr Agger) - might pop down to my local tyre / exhaust fitters and see if they can swap over for me for some beeer money.
