Don’t expect the same response from the gearbox as you do from the Porsche. I suspect you’ll be bouncing off the rev limiter quite frequently to begin with, this combined with the agricultural gearshift will cause some frustration (the later shift is better but still not up to Porsche standards)
The weight balance is more like a 997 rather than a mid engined car, heavy engine up high and interesting weight transfer at the limit.
The Exige has better mid corner grip and less understeer. It’s a really fun and exploitable car, even compared to a GT3 however it’s just different in many ways to an extent that it will hit a different spot but you’ll still miss the GT3.

Not quoie thesame but I went from the 997.1 gt3 to an evora 410. At first I loved it. The wonderful compliance of the lotus in suspension and steering was wonderful.
But then over time it wore thin.
The 997 was a proper grown up sports car and the lotus felt like an amateur.
Hope for find more in the lotus than I did!

I've gone from Exige to 718 GT4 and then back to the Exige (350 Sport in my case).
The GT4 was quite a bit quicker around Snetterton and easier to drive and more comfy on a run...BUT the Exige is just such an event. It's hard to really describe it. Cramped, noisy, crap build quality (though no big issues)...but it just feels so visceral I absolutely love it. I'm toying with selling mine after two years, but I'm really struggling to think what else I can have other than yet another Exige!
It's not for everybody (a Porsche owning mate pointed out that his golf clubs wouldn't fit in the boot, to which I replied 'golf is for
s', but he has a point, the Porsche was more practical).

ironically after 6 years of too little use and being somewhat annoyed at not having seats in the back im more into the exige than the evora
head says gt style car but heart says track weapon
im using surplus funds to buy a vito and an mx bike for my youngest so it feels like ill get more bang for buck than having teh gt3 stuck in the garage most its life with the odd sunday drive
its whether or not i can live with the non germanic fit/finish that concerns me - i expect ill love the drive/thrill/experience. my bro had a newish elise i think 2019 and it was fun
best track day i ever had was also in an elise
but its odd switching marques as im a bit of a loyalist but time to mix things up me thinks
