That would have been the last car I would have sold, had I been him.

Yeah, really surprised me when he announced it.

Think the espada did £110k......I hate selling stuff, I feel oddly invested when I watch him every Sunday

I was surprised when he said he was selling it. However, logically, from a Youtube channel point of view there isn’t much more he can do with it. His restoration videos draw big numbers so i suspect he’s making way for something he can run as a restoration again.

Me too. He'll be happy with the price it fetched though.

I'd have kept the Espada given he'd only just got the engine sorted, at considerable expense. I think the price reflected condition of the paintwork, which was OK but not great.

Huge money for that XJC - with the Harry connection I think that was a 60-70k car despite the expenditure

I recall a few jazzed up XJCs trickling onto the market a few years ago with full restos and loads of upgrades with six figure sums poured into them, before the novelty wore off and they struggled to fetch 50k. Someone will take a hell of a bath when they come to sell that one.

You certainly have to wonder about the Buyers exit strategy because with no historical significance as soon as he adds some mileage it's downhill from there .
A wonderful car nonetheless

It's a fantastic car, but with a collection like his I can sort of understand why Harry sold it to make space for something else and a new experience.

Strong money though!

I got the impression that the Jag never quite ran perfectly despite going well and sounding epic. Tough one to sell on all the same.

I was bidding on it but as everyone has pointed out here it just did not make financial sense to pay that much, even in his own videos he says it cost around 65K to build including the car. I could build my own, with a totally restored shell and to my spec for less.

Still a very nice car though!

Even at the estimated price the paint and fit and finish weren’t up to standard. Not a particularly nice car imo

Great to see the lifecycle of ownership here

Purchase> Restoration> Trips & Voayages> Decision to Sell > Listing> Auction> Results.

I also thought it was a sensitive and clever idea to have Tom Lenshall and Ian Tyrrell to follow the auction and discuss with Harry. Tom clearly lining up future jobs and rightly so.
