New Protech Shocks Issue........

Purchased some new Protech dampers.....built them up and came up short - literally. Top nut barely covers the thread, no threads showing above the nut.

New one on the right -



Then realised that I could pull the bump stop down and there was more thread under the nut, probably what I need to be reassured - about half a centimeter.
I can wind the nut down but I can't move the black plastic collar - should it move ? Both dampers were set like this when I received them so maybe it doesn't move but then what's the point of the nut ?





Any ideas ?!

Have you asked Protech ?

Are they some specific, or generic fitment ?

And are you saying two of the same newly supplied units, are different ?

Not yet, closed at the weekend.

Not custom made.

No, both are short.

Apparently the black collar should wind and move but unable to shift it, it's like it's been thread locked in that position which doesn't work.
