As it’s winter and wanting to keep the car more protected, the factory one isn’t waterproof, yes it looks good and keeps the dust off but looking for something soft on the inside and very protective on the outside.

Any suggestions? Doesn’t have to be AM but want something fitted and not just loose to throw over it

Thanks

The problem with 'fitted' is that anything stretchy tends not to be not waterproof. I've used Classic Additions in the past - I think they make the AM ones - and whilst very nice to start with, eventually they get porous and the elastic weakens. They also get dirty and go green in wet weather.

So I tried a £50 one from Amazon, and it's a surprisingly good fit and completely waterproof. It's elasticated around the bottom and also has elastic straps at both ends stop it blowing off in gales. Purists would hate it but for a car that has to live outside it's the least worst option IMHO.

Ive had Specialised outdoor covers for 4 cars over the last 25 years. They always have a tailored snug fit that does not blow about in the wind, soft inside and the last couple of covers since 2015 have been breathable multi layer fabric which minimises condensation.

I continue to use the Specialised cover for extended periods of non use on my V12VS Roadster. I Always clean and dry the car, take it for a run up the road to dry the discs etc and then park it up with cover on for a few weeks at a time.

Its not really convenient to use the cover on a daily basis as the car needs to be clean before you put the cover on, but its great for winter and other times where I want to keep the car clean for an event. You also have to do something with the cover when you take it off, if its wet you cant just stuff it in the bag and leave it, ideally you want to dry it out a bit first otherwise its going to be a wet handful when you get it out next time wink
