Is this real? If so there are some unbelievably sick ccensoredts in the world. If any are caught and found guilty I hope the spend the rest of thier lives in the pokey. I suspect any case will be difficult to prove as it happened 30+ years ago.

It's plain evil. Hopefully there are files detailing who did what. I'm on the fence whether this should be a "take them to court" or a post-WW2 "Mossad hunting the Nazis" exercise, except with Bosniaks doing the hunting.

However if it's anything like another set of files then perhaps nothing will come of it.

Just read this.

You'd consider it a bit far fetched in a distopian thriller.

That whole war was so horrendously brutal.

One of the most moving places i've been to is Mostar - the War And Genocide Victims museum is just.... awful, so moving but also so shocking in it's display of how twistedly evil humans can be towards fellow mankind - and all the while the rest of the world just watched by.

I think the most shocking bit is also how recent is all was - and that we just stood by and in the main, let it happen.

The level of depravity that humans are capable of lowering themselves to is very disturbing, what a God forsaken species we are, I really hope they catch them and bring them to justice.

That's a little unfair... ~150 UN peace keepers were killed in Bosnia. A big chunk of those were Brits too I seem to remember.

I did read that pirate ‘experience’ is a thing now.

Go on a boat, sail through likely ‘pirate’ places. Shoot at pirates.

Sadly nothing about this surprises me.

It's funny how the phrase 'humane' is used for the ethical treatment of other living things, based on our track record as a species torturing a dog for instance is on brand.

There is a small percentage of people who are very very nasty indeed. I have met a couple, they had never acted on it as far as I know, but you can see the way they flare when they lose their temper, or the coldness that they have to others, that there is something fundamental not connected upstairs.

Our job as a society is to promote better behaviours, and our job as partners and parents is to keep our loved ones away from such people.

Engaging in pirate shooting for entertainment and "sport" is indicative of a twisted individual, but you cannot compare the two.

Pirate shooting = making yourself a tempting target for armed criminals to approach who would kill you for the shoes on your feet. Presumably hiding the fact you have considerably better firepower until it's too late. Oh sure, it's a desperate situation that turned them to piracy but piracy is the choice they made.

This = sniping desperate civilians in a city under siege. Unarmed civilians, who wouldn't be able to fight back anyway even if they were armed, because sniper. They didn't make a choice to end up a target.

Slightly confused why you would pay to do that when you could just join the army with the bigger guns

The russians are doing it now, all you need to do is join their army, become a drone operator and they'll let you loose on ukrainian civilians, the same ones they're "saving" from the gay jewish nazis.

And why don't stabby criminals just enrol in medical school and qualify as a surgeon if they just want to cut people a bit? Why don't drug dealers just qualify as pharmacists? Why don't fraudsters just become politicians if they want to steal our money?

What they wanted to do was kill without facing danger, hardship or repercussions. Soldiering is dangerous, and if a soldier goes shooting at civilians he will face repercussions (hopefully). Most soldiers want to make the world a better place.

These people had the equivalent of several years' salary for the PBI to drop on a "murder holiday", I don't think they would drop their chosen careers to sign up as a soldier.

I do not know if this is true and I hope it is a fabrication. If it is in fact true I would reverse my normal opposition to the death penalty and give these despicable animals an early end,in particular to the organizers.

I'd much rather those rich American pricks that pay to shoot lions and elephants in Africa shot pirates instead.

As someone else mentioned it, the Russians are doing it at the moment. We all know what they have been up to in Ukraine so I will focus on Russian mercenaries in Africa and Syria:
