I am considering changing the original shocks on the S2 since they are not adjustable, the springs have sagged and the bushes need replacing.
There is a Gaz adjustable coilover suspension kit which comes with springs, bushes fitted, and spacers ready to fit onto the car. The spring rates are 375lb rear and 450lb front.

Are these spring rates correct? 450lb for the front seems a bit stiff. Car will only be used for road use

Thanks

That's a little firm but not outrageous. For comparison I run 600F/400R on my V8S, but that's definitely a track focussed setup and also not using Gaz dampers. Spring and damping rates need to match each other, and the better the damper the more damping you can get without the ride getting harsh, so higher spring rates usually need better dampers. I can't tell you whether those specific dampers are suitable for those spring rates, but since they're sold as a set clearly somebody thinks they are. If you decide the damping to suit those springs makes the ride too harsh, you can always swap for softer springs and back the dampers off to match. Springs are relatively inexpensive compared to dampers.

I'm always surprised how many people quote their damper adjustments as clicks from the fully soft position. Dampers should always be adjusted by setting them to the fully hard position and then backing them off the desired number of clicks.
