Steering wheel buttons MEB platform cars - Ford Capri
Discussion
My wife has a Ford Capri EV, she likes it and I'm growing increasingly used to it with bursts of fondness.
Mostly it is like any EV to drive... predominantly quiet and easy, but there are a few frustrations...
The biggest frustration and almost poor safety decision is how the designers have made you hang up an active phone call. I am aware that Ford use their SYNC 4 infotainment system and thus far it has been very good, I think only stumbling on Apple carplay a couple of times. But I am guessing it ties in to the standard "haptic" buttons of the MEB platform which I am questioning how well they have done. I can live with the annoying haptic touch sensitiveness of them as I accidentally brush them (quite often I turn on the heated steering wheel from where my hand positions are). But it seems to me that the only way to hang up a call is to go to the central infotainment screen and press the end call button there.
Every other car I have had with some sort of carplay or bluetooth phone connectivity has always had a steering wheel button to end the call. For clarity I think I have tried all the buttons on the Ford starting with the little cross and ending with the voice control button to give a command and even "Hey Ford cancel call" but nothing.
I don't suppose anyone has either a Ford Capri and can tell me idiot just press and hold that steering wheel button (although I swear I've tried every combination) or every MEB platform car is the same and there is some known hack?

I asked the ford guy on a test drive about this and he had no clue (it's an issue on the Volvo C40 too).
Hated the same buttons in the iD3 - never got used to them although the wife never accidentally pressed them.
When i test drove the Capri i noticed they were not quite as sensitive. However getting an Elroq and the VRS has different wheel with normal buttons

Nope, it's central screen only (Ford Explorer owner).
The haptics don't worry me much, you get used to them after about 5 minutes.
Yes I don’t mind the buttons I just wish one of the steering wheel buttons would hang up a call. Oh well first world problems and all that. The haptics don't worry me much, you get used to them after about 5 minutes.
