Turbo Wheels - Refinishing in silver instead of diamond cut?
Discussion
Hi all,
So I'm lucky enough to have a deposit down on a Turbo at RPM. They're going to refurb the wheels, and I'm sorely tempted to get them done in either satin silver, or maybe an anthracite colour instead of the polished wheels. However, I can't find a picture of the exact wheels (991.1) in a different finish to make my mind up.
So - to anyone else who's gone from diamond cut to another finish, what did you think, happy or wish you'd kept it standard?
Cheers,
Rob

I've just done the opposite. I've recently bought a 991.2 Turbo S which had black alloys.

I can't stand black wheels and they just looked lost against a black car. I got the dealer to diamond cut the faces before I collected.

I've also got a set of Turbo Exclusive style wheels on their way for a spare set for a bit of colour.

There's a finish called Black Chrome, which is the same as powder coating and can be applied in two tones. I've seen wheels that look like diamond cut but black chrome. So I'm lucky enough to have a deposit down on a Turbo at RPM. Very useful. I didn't know you could do that so easily. I personally hate black wheels and have been excluding cars that have them as a brand new set would have cost ££.

Opens up more options especially when looking at GTS models.

IMHO so much nicer than black wheels - guess it's an 'age thing' as my 21 Yr old son thought the black diamond cut alloys looked great!
Definitely an age thing as you say, and I grew up with silver alloys, so it's what I'm familiar with. I've always liked the silver wheels on the 370Z too, so I knew there was a good chance I'd like them. I didn't actually mind the black diamond cut when they were immaculate, but once they started corroding, I fell out with the way they looked though. So the swap to silver was a win win for me really.

Looks great on both sets of wheels tbf!
