A Force no more...
Discussion
Well, today has completed a double whammy unfortunately, and officially brings to a close a constant that has existed since 1971.
Fresh from the recent news that Brittany Force is to retire after this weekend's NHRA season finale, news broke an hour ago that was much less unexpected, but no less depressing. A year on from a crash- inflicted traumatic head injury, still unable to drive and now aged 76, John Force has officially retired from driving and will never take to the track again.
While JFR team has reached higher heights of success than ever with the talented pairing of Austin Prock and Jack Beckman - and Adria, Ashley and Courtney's children are moving up through the junior ranks- 2026 will be the first time in FIFTY FIVE YEARS that the name Force will not appear on at least one car. And given that the grandkids have their own paternal names, it may never appear again.
It's a helluva legacy.
