I'm thinking of an M240i (F22) as a new daily. Having also considered an M2 for a while, I think the 240 is more suited to my commute.

Two questions really

1. What are the GPF engines like? I know sound isn't as good but any issues with reliability? Specifically with higher mileage cars? Some chat in the Porsche world about mega expensive GPF replacement, not covered under warranty. I've also got direct experience of VW's DPF and although that's obviously different it's made me a bit wary. The sweet spot seems to be an early 2018 car to avoid GPF.

2. What are the options I should be looking for? I'm thinking HK sound system, ProNav and heated seats? Maybe one with some M performance bits. Anything else? Adaptive suspension? That seems to be quite rare.

Thanks!

I'm after a 440i but not averse to the right M240i if it crops up. For me, "right" means HK, Pro Nav and heated seats. I'm surprised how rare these items are on an M240i given that it was the range-topping model. I asked the GPF question about the 440i and was told it's not an issue.
