It's the middle of November. It's starting to turn cold. Do we really need a health alert to tell us it's turning cold? rolleyes

It's the time of year when the simple folk block up all the ventilation then do sad faces when the mould appears and they develop respiratory issues. So yes, a health alert is wise.

More propaganda for the "Climate Emergency".

Are the weather maps dark blue for average temperatures.

Took the dogs around the block at lunchtime.

Colder out there than it looks. I could have done with a jacket on.....

It's gone from unseasonably mild to pretty cold especially first thing in the space of a few days.

Doesn't seem the end of the world to me.

Got to make the old folk spend more money to bolster the energy companies somehow, those shareholders don't pay themselves.

Lovely walk down to Boots to get my flu jab. A bit crisp but beautiful sunshine. I don’t get this immediate panic by some when it gets a bit nippy.

Our local dog walking park was noticably quieter this morning than it has been!

Nanny state bks.

It's mid November and the sun is out. Of course it's going to be chilly.

Usual "Arctic Conditions" headlines... I think it would do good to send all the media to the actual Arctic (perhaps one way) for a few days, it certainly won't be 3 degrees, light frost with gusts of 11mph.

Theres only one time of the year I check the daily express for the comedy weather predictions and its around about now!

Minus 10, ontop of a mountain, somewhere in West Scotland, between 4 and 5am.

Aren’t the health alerts issued to trigger plans for health agencies to be activated if needs be.

It’s not aimed at the wider public.

It was 3 degrees this morning but a beautiful crisp sunny day which is much better than the recent rainy weather that we’ve been having.

A forecast is helpful, albeit they haven’t been very accurate lately. It does grate a bit when it’s called an alert.

The alert isn't to tell the public to get their big coat out. It's to invoke systems and processes for dealing with the weather.

Gov said:
The Weather health alerting system is provided by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) in partnership with the Met Office. It's intended to provide early warning to the health and social care sector, the responder community, the voluntary and community sector and government departments when adverse temperatures are likely to impact on the health and wellbeing of the population.

Why would it be on the national news then?
