EV Maintenance Package
Discussion
Experience on this much appreaciated
Getting an Ioniq 5N
comes with PZeros which are apparently terrible
Its a 2 year BCH
Total cost to add maintenance is cominh in around £600 - I know they don't require maintenance in a 2 year window - however it includes tyres
1 set of tyres and I am basically in profit
I am trying to confirm if I Can get alternative tyres fitted at the point mine are bust - theyve said they get replaced at 2mm
they seem to be saying its down to lease company and it sounds like im not gonna get a proper, written committment on this but what are people's experiences of getting tyres sorted on a maintenance deal and I don't even know how it works - can I go get them fitted and then invoice the lease company or do I have to take it back to Hyundai or the lease company directly to get it done?
I am new to this and also speaking to Hyundai but any advice much appreciated
I would ALSO be interested in any experience of the maintenance deals coveing anything else? Cant imagine what could come up on an EV in 24 month s
thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks

Yeah they would not authorize changing tryes that are over 2mm, been there and had that, then it's down to what milage you do. Would be nice to have the cabin filter changed thu.Getting an Ioniq 5N

Unless I've missed it you've not said how many miles you're doing - that would be key to whether this is value.
I do 20k a year so maintenance via my lease company is great value, if I was doing 5k a year it wouldnt stack up.

I'm the latter hence I'm not willing to pay what I consider an excessive rate.

I don't do many miles probably 5k but have heard it should eat tyres plus so far I've been advised I can track it (need to get written confirmation) in which case imagine it wouldn't take many laps of Bedford before I needed a new set
There may be a "fair usage" term in the maintenance contact - when I had leased company cars they expected the tyres to last 30K. I had one replacement front pair that lasted 7K but I didn't choose them so told them to sod off. I can't for the life of me imagine the lease firm will cheerfully replace tyres on a car they know has been tracked.ETA: I also can’t imagine they’ll OK it being tracked.

I’d ask them what price bracket of tyres they’d fit. The Pirellis are widely disliked, but if their policy is to fit budget tyres you might be jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
Also check the small print of the maintenance contract, I’d be surprised if they replaced the tyres due to wear after only a couple of thousand miles. I know in mine there’s a clause around excessive/unusual wear. No idea how often it gets enforced though.
