Exige S2 budget creep.. Cup 260 or (and not an S3)

Oh what to do.. looking around for an S2… had one previously and want to get back into the car.Then price creep comes in and what was a £34k purchase is now looking at a few £k more. My prev car was black so don’t want another, but would want an upgrade over a 2006 SC, but not an S3.

Won’t be doing any track days, I just like the cars.

Typically I’d always gone for originality and low miles, and found:

- 2007 laser blue S2 with a lot of mods (sycecs ECU / Interior by Allon White, H111 300 kit, charge cooler, Nitrons, 240R wheels, 24k miles, £34k, not advertised anywhere, never been tracked. It’s in lovely condition and super clean.

- 2010 red 260 Cup just popped on PH, £42k.. a lot of this has been rebuilt (blog on exiges). It’s in northern island on UK plates but missing all the MOT history. reg XIG 260. It’s been tracked but not too sure how much.

- 2010 red 240 (?) with triple pack for £40k, think it’s 22k miles. Clutch done and pretty much original. While it’s got regular services it’s missed some of the regular rad updates (because it’s not failed yet).

So the budget has gone up.. what’s people’s view of a 260 CUP? Its stretching what I would realistically like to spend vs a blue sorted (albeit overly modded and tuned) laser blue.

And red vs laser blue?

Yeah it’s interesting both the 260 cups are North of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Colour is a personal thing. I am not keen on either the red or the blue. If I had to choose, it would be the latter.

Whilst a 260 Cup might be pushing the budget, I'd think it would be a very safe place to keep it. Likewise a RGB.
