I'm often on here asking for info on weird destinations I'm off to, Durban, Calgary, and Milwaukee of late, so here we go again. Recife, N.E. Brazil.

Anyone been. Apparently it's the shark attack capital of the world, which isn't a great feather in its cap. Will be staying in Boa Viagem, which is meant to reduce my chances of being murdered to death.

I had 2 days in Rio DJ earlier in the year, which was a bit of a dump (but the touristy stuff was utterly brilliant).

The above trip got cancelled, but another trip to Recife is now on. Anyone?

We flew in from Rio. As you fly low across the ocean you’ll see the sharks. If you’re ok with all that sort of stuff great. I dare say there are loads of changers offering to take you out and scare you witless. Or you can just avoid them.

I'm not really ok with sharks tbh. Call me a coward but I won't be swimming in the sea.
