More modern but Awolnation - Sail

Never really clicked with the song but it went absolutely massive. The rest of that album is one I can happily listen to straight through except that song. Instant skip.

Oof, tough on the Joel OP. Maybe it's just been played to death, like Money for Nothing (Dire Straits), which is brilliant but just overplayed.

I'll nominate Queen's "We Will Rock You". I love Queen but that's a shocker.

Adam & the Ants:

Loved their Zerox/Dirk Wears White Sox/Lou stuff when I was young. Saw them in 1980 when I was 14 just as they signed to CBS.

Then the pop rubbish came out:

Prince Charming: If ever there was a more cringeworthy change of direction, that was the epitome of their turn to absolute rubbish. That video with the dancing and Diana Dors! frownfrown

Mainly from the not official video on Youtube rather than anything else that had infintely more views than the "official" one until they got into legal nonsense about it.

Shame for the girl really. Although on subject, there isn't a lot on their catalog that really stands out.

I’d suggest that anyone who is only familiar with 80s prog-pop band ‘It Bites’ through their biggest hit, ‘Calling All The Heroes’ to explore their other work, as it’s a contender for their worst song imho.

Nah, it has Kate Pierson on backing vocals which makes it cool.

Just looked that up, I'd somehow missed the video situation and hadn't even seen it. Sounds like record labels & youtube being supportive as always...

I personally love that album, think just right era of my life for it to really sink its claws in to me. Kill Your Heroes and knights of shame are highlights for me

Scenes From An Italian Restaurant- Billy Joel
The Killing Of Georgie- Rod Stewart
On The Radio - Donna Summer
“Please take note Greatest Hits Radio”

Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden. One of my favourite bands and that shocking, whiney dirge can't be skipped fast enough.

Stevie Wonder - I just called to say I love you.

Stevie is a bona fide musical genius. His landmark albums from the mid 1970s are revered masterpieces which have stood the test of time. But, in this country at least, the ghastly ditty above (which was No1 for months) is what he is best known for. And that is a travesty.
