Fans of Stranger Things might be interested in a new temporary radio station launched by Global yesterday and on air until January. Linked to the final series of Stranger Things on Netflix which starts this week.
WSQK The Squawk, playing 1980s hits, all broadcast in a retro style (sung jingles, very heavily compressed), and retro style commercials written in the spirit of Hawkins.
Available on DAB in London, Global Player and smart speakers.

The music choice is pretty good!

I'm finding it much better than Absolute 80s and the radio geek in me is loving the retro production. Never seen Stranger Things so no idea what the schtick is but will enjoy it while it's on air.

Basically, remember the juvenile adventure stuff from your youth in the 80s, plucky kids faced with a mystery and some kind of monster in the woods?
