Morning all, considering purchasing one of these (new) test drive arranged next week and as new to Merc would appreciate any comments/advice etc. I am particularly interested in what people do regarding warranty as this would be a keeper and the Merc warranty looks like it’s almost £3k a year, is this correct?

All advice appreciated, thank you. I’m currently running a 19 plate M4 comp and a small run around and looking for a one car does it all solution

If it's new would you not have the standard full manufacturer's for 3 years?
If it's approved used then it should have 2 years amg warranty included as part of the purchase.

Edited to add - are you talking about warranty after the 3 years is up? If so then that is classed as continuation so would be a lot cheaper than 3k. For reference I run an AMG GTC and my warranty is £1600 pa, I'd expect an A45 to be a lot less than that.

A45S?

You wouldn't need to pay for a warranty on a new car.

Thanks folks, I meant when the warranty expires after 3 years so if I keep it what a continuation warranty would be, it s £1200 pa currently for the BMW warranty on the M4

Hi, got mine on 1st September and through the dealer group I did an extended warranty with RAC for extra 2 years at a total of £1k with a claim limit of £60k. Maintenance & Repair warranty with Platinum Plus cover level.
Have to admit I didn’t realise it was RAC not Mercedes

You’d be better off banking the same money and covering repairs yourself

Like any warranty it may as well be supplied with a bag of magic beans, for all the good it’ll do you if you need to claim.
