Has anyone replaced that rubber fuel line and the metal "hump" line that goes over the left rear lower trailing arm?
I think that area is the same for both Griffith & Chimeras...

My metal line ( the one with the "hump"..) is dangerously close to having it hit by the trailing arm. So close that it would be hit by the training arm if the arm moved up by a hard bump in the road. I want to move it back so that the metal "hump" line is more directly over the lower trailing arm so that the arm would never hit the metal "hump" line. Has anyone done this?

Also: has anyone removed the rubber coating where the fuel line exits the lower back of the fiberglass trunk?
I'd like to remove the material around the fuel line there, but not sure what's behind it. Doing that would help me re-position the rubber line & metal line to fit aver the rear trailing arm better and eliminate the potential of the trailing arm hitting the metal "hump" fuel line.

Any help or suggestions? Insights? tricks to getting this done? ( I have a full storage lift so I can easily work standing up underneath the Griff.)
Thxs for any/all advice!

The tank end of that line just behind the trailing arm has a worm drive clamp securing it to the metal "hump" / joggle metal tubing.
That worm drive clamp is "very" close to the side of the trialing arm. If I loosen it even a little, fuel starts to leak ( and the tank is full for winter storage ), so I don't want to create a mess by trying to fully remove that clamp.

Can I remove some of the rubberized material from the fiberglass area where the fuel line goes into the fiberglass area behind the gas tank?
Maybe doing that would give me some room to move the whole line back towards the gas tank and get the "hump / joggle tube in the right place with the hump directly over the trailing arm so when the trailing arm moves it doesn't hit the pipe?

Just not sure what's behind the rubberized area where the guel line comes out of the inside of the trunk.......sure don't want to make a mess!

Thxs for any & all advice!

This may answer some of your questions:

The main problem is the tank fuel outlet being at the bottom, I believe some owners have moved it up so getting rid of the brass tube.

The rubber stuff is just sealant used to fill the gaps, it can be taken out but is very stubborn as its probably sikaflex.
I would run the fuel down first as it makes sense to replace all rubber lines if your going to do it properly.
Dont buy fuel hose from ebay either, car builder solutions sells cohline ethanol proof hose and its the only stuff i would use.

Make yourself a patch to seal the little pipe from the tank, less sealant needed.

I've replaced the hoses as well, it's on the 3rd page of my project thread here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
