Hello all

I hope you are all well, I will be looking at swapping my F31 30d in the new year for a G21 version and I was wondering whether to prioritise spec or age.

For example I have seen a 22 plate one with about 54k miles on it for £28k standard and a 69 plate with 61k miles for £32k but has all the options fitted - of those 2 which one should I look at more?

Thanks for the help.

I would take the pre-LCI car. The dashboard is so much nicer with the 'old' style binnacle and nav screen. The current single screen just looks cheap, in my opinion. The pre-LCI car also has one button to turn off any lane assist or speed warning beeping. Do it once and forget it. In the later cars you have to turn it off every time. Bloody annoying.

I'd always buy spec over mileage too. A higher mileage, high spec car would be more appealing than a lower mileage, mostly standard car. For a G21, I'd be looking for a car with a pano roof too.

Thanks for the reply, the 22 plate is one of the last pre-lci cars so that is one benefit. I have a pano roof on my current f31 and I agree it does lift the cabin even with the cream leather.

I think a lighter colour leather is a positive thing. I've had F31's with lighter interior and pano roof and they're great. My current G21 has the black and fjord blue merino leather, and the blue lifts it nicely.
