I’m going to start watching the tv series ‘Pluribus’ tonight which got me thinking: The US has ‘E Pluribus Unum’ as its motto, often seen on the flag behind the President in the Oval Office, so, do we have a motto here or indeed do any other countries have one? If we don’t, what do you think ours should be?whistle

honi soit qui mal y pense

Seemed to be around quite a bit. I m not going to pretend I know where it s from (other than French). Think it s on my passport and was on a few stained glass windows in school. It was drilled into me as a kid with the phrase “on his way he madly puns” as away to remember it.

My secondary school motto was "Nil desperandum auspice deo" - quite a common one, but I think theyve dropped it now its become an academy school.
