Greetings all, just finalising the spec for my Amalfi for delivery next year. Unfortunately Ferrari aren’t offering Michelin tyres as an option; it’s either Pirellis or Bridgestones. I have lots of experience of Pirellis on Ferraris and they are OK but would prefer Michelins. I have no experience of Bridgestones on any car though I have noticed that Bridgestones won Evo’s best tyre of 2025 review. No intention of taking this car on track. Will be primarily used for touring in Europe. Any views?

I am pretty sure that if Ferrari approved the fitment as OE they must be pretty decent... I would very very much doubt you can feel a significant difference between one or the other.. usual overthinking when waiting for a new delivery car... happens to me all the time..

you will love it whatever OE tyres come with the car.. believe me..

Unfortunately, unless someone has tried both on the Amalfi, it’s going to be impossible to know.

I think the last set of K rated Bridgestones were for the F12 and they seemed to have a decent reputation.

Thanks for your replies. After further digging I found an online Evo review of the Roma Spider where they were less than complimentary about the Bridgestones fitted so unless Ferrari have a change of heart and offer Michelins I will stick with Pirellis.

My input fwiw

I have a lot of experience of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on a variety of cars - fwd, rwd, 4wd and they're great imo, wet or dry.
No track use.

A year ago I bought an 812 which has plenty of power and rwd and I dislike the P Zeros it has. They take an age to warm and beware of your right foot until they are fully warmed.

I asked how can Pirelli make such a poor tyre when the PS4S is spot on from cold?

Answer from those smarter than me.

The PS4S will give great performance across the entire spectrum including track.
The P Zero will be great once you warm it through but will be significantly better on track at higher temps and loads.

I guess you just need to understand what the car will do with with whatever tyres it has.

Good luck and enjoy a fabulous Ferrari

Just my 2 pence worth, both the P Zero's and the Bridgestones are less than ideal, (what are Ferrari thinking about not speccing Michelins!!). That said, the P Zero is definately the better of the 2 choices as the Bridgestones lack grip in any conditions below about 10C.

Get the tyres which are worth the most used and sell them on Ebay straight away and replace with MPS4S. The Pirelli's are lethal in less than ideal circumstances (i.e. UK weather) This is what I have done with every high powered car I have bought. MPS4S are superb. Its less than half as percent of the value of your car and will make more of a difference than anything else.

Ferrari are traipsing an Amalfi round the UK dealers this week. I am going to the Meridien “reveal” on Thursday and, assuming there are some people there from Ferrari HQ, I shall bend their ears about the tyre situation.

Both terrible options. Buy the Michelins, you won’t regret it, especially in the UK.

And if you can’t get Michelins in the right size, Conti SportContact 7s are just as good, if not slightly better.

Just to finish this, I was at one of the dealer Amalfi launches last week. I asked the guys from Italy what tyre they’d recommend (assuming that they would say either Bridgestones or Pirellis). They both answered “Michelins” and were genuinely surprised to hear that they weren’t being offered.
Anyway, bit of a first world problem.

I thought I’d finished this thread but I’m now more confused. A number of Amalfi road tests have now appeared on line and in magazines. Happily they are all pretty positive. However, to recap, Ferrari are saying I can only have the car delivered with Pirellis or Bridgestones. The reps from FNE and Italy at the Amalfi launch recommended Michelins and all the cars recently supplied to road testers have Goodyears!
I will be asking my dealer WTF is happening but I doubt they’ll have any more idea than I do.
