missed this air show this year, want to plan ahead, could any one advise of any packages they would recommend, also what nearest/nicest hotel to stay in, we want to make a weekend of it for 20206.

any experience of the best package to go with, can see they do camping as well, had to put a load of stuff off last 2 years, so we are looking forward to doing stuff again,

I think you'll struggle even this far out to find a nearby hotel that isnt already fully booked unless you look further out, I know of people that stay in Bristol, train it to Swindon then shuttle bus to RIAT, but if you do be prepared to pay through the nose, I know of people paying into the thousands for local hotels & air BnBs

I personally camp at Kempsford, I usually arrive on Tuesday evening & leave Monday morning for departure day but I think even that is already sold out, you could look at the official camp site for RIAT

Thank you all, spot on about costs!!! And things booked already, bookwd to go oldschool camping, or maybe glamping when they release more info, just need to dig out the tent and hope there's no gnaw marks

Really looking forward to it, have treated us to one of the hospitality packages for the Sunday, so good to be looking forward.

We found an Airbnb near Brize for under £400 a head for 4 nights. There were 4 of us.it was the perfect location but still took us 3 hours to get in.

What's your idea of expensive? I live in Tetbury and a quick look on booking.com shows at least a dozen places for less than £500 for the 3 nights. You:ll have to make your own way to RIAT but it's about 30mins.

I can't help feeling the issue will be actually getting there not so much where you stay. The traffic is hell during that weekend, even more so if you're trying to get there. I'd be looking at whether any of the provided transport has any sort of priority route/timings or something along those lines or maybe hiring a camper and being on site. Otherwise you can't make the most of your digs as you are leaving very early and getting back very late, in which case as long as it's clean and warm it doesn't really matter.

Try The Swan in Bibury - nice easy journey to RIAT in the morning with very little traffic.
