If you intend visiting US National parks next year, be aware Trump has increased prices for foreigners.

Individual visits will cost an extra $100 per person (or in some cases per car) for each park visited, in addition to the normal entrance fee.

The annual pass, which gives admittance to just about all parks, will go from $80 to $250.

These changes come in on 1st January 2026.

FYI you can currently buy a digital annual pass for $80 before then, which will cover most of next year smile

The £100 surcharge only applies to the most popular parks but it still seems an excessive amount especially as it seems to be per person not per vehicle.

National Parks Service said:
The following parks will have a surcharge of $100 for each nonresident of the US entering the park: Acadia National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Everglades National Park, Glacier National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Parks, and Zion National Park.

Crikey, that makes it very expensive.

We visited three parks last time we went with two now subject to the new charge. That would have been an extra $400!

Seems excessive but they are a fantastic place to visit.

The $100 pp surcharge does not apply if you have the America the Beautiful pass, which covers up to 4 adults. If you’re going to visit more than one park in any 12 month period, the annual pass would seem the logical way forward.

The annual pass is going up from $80 to $250 for foreigners from January.

To get an annual pass usually meant buying in an NP. There's been the option to buy a digital pass online since around November 20th.

If you are considering visiting next year you should buy the online pass now which will cover most of next year for $80

When we lived over there, we considered the $50 annual National Parks pass the best money we spent. Even at the increased prices it's a bit of a bargain for the scenery and experiences, Having said that, Trump is still a t**t

Wow, so glad I found this thread. We’re planning on visiting several National Parks next March/April.

Thankfully we’re arriving in Florida on Tuesday so can buy an annual pass for $80 then.

Great spot, we're going next June and always purchase an annual America the Beautiful pass, so this will save us some money!

Crikey, just checked my statement from sept 24 and it only cost my wife and I $35 per park on arrival (Yosemite and Sequoia).

And Canada waived the fee completely last summer, it saved us a significant amount.

Vote with your feet.

We won't be going back to the states until he's dead.

Thankfully I've been to most of them already as I certainly wouldn't be paying that price!

I was intending to drive through Rocky Mountain NP again when I was there earlier in the year but felt that $35 was massively overpriced so turned around...... $135 !!!! no chance.
