3d printer on Santa's list

Hi

My 10 Yr old wants a 3d printer for Christmas. I have no idea where to start with these. Watched a few videos and now even more confused. Is anyone on here that is familiar with them and can offer some tips on using and buying one!

Ideally I think he would like something feasible enough to use from selecting from app and sending to 3d printer maybe with the capability of designing on laptop if he really likes it!
