Old man has fitted the official Moto Guzzi USB kit to his V7

Problem is that all it does is create a USB socket under the seat.

He needs a Male USB-A for under the seat to a water proof USB-A socket that will be attached the handle bars

But all the options are ugly as heck and huge.

He wants something discreet.

I think you'll struggle to find a solution as most USB ports for this application want 12v to the ports, not from another USB port. I put in a 12v socket from battery to the dash instead as it gives more versatility, not stuck with the USB ports on the socket if a new power standard comes out.

Recently after very heavy rain filled the socket and killed my connected satnav temporarily, I changed it up so that the wire to the dash is just a waterproof connector, so I can plug in my handlebar bag with the 12v socket and USB ports nice and dry inside. It's not discreet like you'd like though, probably hard to do without making a hole in the dash somewhere, you're gonna have some ugly box attached to the handlebars with a wire flapping around if you're not cutting and screwing a port to something.

Edit: if it's this one:

Maybe you could get a kit like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09WV2Q9DG?ref=ppx_pop...

and some wire to extend it near the handbars tucked away somewhere? Don't know the the bike to help with that, but might be a pain to actually use it if it's not in a place where you can hold it to plug a cable in.

I'd suggest that fitting a normal 12v power socked near the handlebars would be a better option. There are various weather resistant options available. Once that's installed. you can then get a standard 12v to USB plug in unit and run a cable from there.

Do a search for weatherproof usb extension cables, there's plenty of choice.

Yep I'm with this connector or something direct to battery. You could carefully cut a small square to fit the usb in and then Piaggio make a rubber grommet that sits around the USB perfectly to keep it neat and tidy, minimize vibration and seal pretty good from water

I would fit the USB there and hide all the wiring underneath and run under the tank to the seat/battery

If you need the part number for the rubber grommet let me know. It'll definitely work as I've done it on 3 of my Aprilias

Why do you need another connector? There is a USB socket under the seat on my Triumph, I just run the phone charging cable from that to the bars, then it just plugs into the phone.
