Well, we made it to the last round of the WDC – congratulations all! And it could be a classic.

Verstappen, Piastri and Norris all have 7 wins after McLaren’s strategy omnishambles and all have a realistic chance to win the WDC. Mclaren has the best car but both team and drivers look vulnerable. Verstappen is a stone cold killer on track and will take any chance offered to him. Take your pick- the poll is for the WDC winner this time.

Thanks to all for your contributions this year. We all value this little corner of the internet where we can share our love of F1, disagree about the most obscure things and marvel at paulguitar’s love for Lewis Hamilton biggrin Long may it continue.

Lando remains my tip for the WDC, but I predict drama and pain.

Here’s to a great race.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I think Lando will do enough to scrape it over the line.

A bit like his gifted “home win” at Silverstone however, I think he’ll be oblivious as to how close he came to wasting his opportunity.

It’s been a good season all things considered-no one who can win the championship has had a fault free year!

As always, the details will be lost in the midst of time one you get that WDC against your name however.

I hope Lando gets it over the line but I have to admit that watching him race reminds me of when I was a little kid and used to hide behind the couch when the daleks were on Dr Who.
Many thanks for all your work this year, PIAP. It is much appreciated.

Thanks PIAP!

I think Lando will scrape it over the line and get it done. I would still love to see Max snatch it though, a twisted part of me wants to see egg on all the Mclaren faces, and I'm not sure why I feel like that?!

As a Lewis fan I never thought the day would come but I have been cheering on Max to do it. There really is no doubting his spectacular abilities!

Heart says Lando but head says Max, especially after this weekend.

After the last two races you'd be forgiven for thinking Ferrari had taken over McLaren, they really are in the process of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, hope Lando does it though.

Lot of confidence in Piastri then! hehe

Thanks again for your efforts this year PIAP, much appreciated! smile

I think Lando has this in the bag, but I can't shake a nagging feeling that somehow the McLarens might take each other out of the race and hand it to Max...

My head says that Lando will be on the podium. And that's all he needs.

I've got a nagging feeling that to get there, he'll be involved in drama.

Should be Lando’s, all he has to do is finish 3rd or better….

Should be Lando and only needing 3rd even with a Max win means he should do it but who knows as anything is possible with Mclaren at the moment

I’m in two minds whether to try and get a ticket, or stay in and watch from home?

In 2021 most of the live crowd didn’t have much of a clue about what actually went down until we got home.

Thanks PIAP for all your race threads this year, it ia my go to for race sessions schedules. bow

Hopefully going to be a exciting end to the season with 3 drivers, lets just hope it is down to good hard and fair racing for the final and no BS.

At the start of the season i wanted Williams to do well and to me they have done with P5 in the team standings so far with both drivers in the top 10 standings.

Mclaren have done an good job of winning the Constructers championship even though some of the decisions made by the team have been somewhat questionable but they have done the job for the team, i was rooting for Piastri for the championship midway through the season as he started decent but the last 3rd of the season not so good.

I think its Landos championship to loose now and would like to see Lando take the Championship at the last race, Max has been on the ball for the last few races and maximised points the last few races and its possible he will take it so its down to the line at AD for one last time this year.

Never been a great fan of Max but warmed to him this season. Any driver who spends a precious spare weekend hammering a GT3 car around the Ring gets my vote.

I’ve always supported the “home” drivers ever since dad took me to watch Jimmy Clark at Silverstone in 1967. So it would be good to see Norris as WDC, similarly Piastri who has moved on quite nicely.

However I have no doubt that Max would be the most deserving champion, None of the flakiness that Lando & Oscar have intermittently shown. Never gives up, fights all the way. In reality probably driving the 2nd best car on the grid. No effective team mate support. Also RB post-Horner seems a slightly more agreeable less toxic place.

Respect.

Will be quite happy if Max prevails next weekend.

Thank you, PiaP! Very much appreciate all of your efforts in opening these threads for each race beer

I'm terrified to watch this. I would like a very boring race, with Lando cruising to a win, please and thank you. Max and Oscar both out in Q2 so that they can't go too fancy on the strategy and are far enough away not to trouble a win. 14th and 15th will do nicely. I'd even take a Lance-shaped torpedo effort into T1!

It's not that I wouldn't respect any of the contenders emerging victorious, I just can't take the stress any longer, so I'm plumping for the path of least resistance! laugh

Max and lando tangle (i think lando will be at fault due to pressure) and Oscar sneaks it

Or even lando and Oscar tangle!!
