This is done by setting the Ipod up as an external drive - all the details are here, I followed it last weekend and it worked perfectly first time:

Or you just point iTunes to your new iTunes music folder by going to options/preferences menu, then the 'advanced' tab and 'general' sub-tab and then clicking 'change...' on the 'iTunes Music folder location'

Go to ipodlounge.com (i think thats right).

You can download a bit of software from there which can allow you to copy them to and from different ipods/pcs into itunes.

(assuming Windows, but Mac is very similar)

Copy the music from the old drive to exactly the same place on the new one (if you keep it under "My Music", your username must stay the same).

You'll also find under "My Music" a couple of library files - "iTunes Music Library.xml" and "iTunes Library.itl". Copy these files from your old disk to the new one - make sure iTunes isn't running while you do this.

If the library files are moved and the music is in the same place on the new disk as it is on the old, it should just start up as it was before, including your song ratings.
