Good morning, everyone. I've owned the 2006 Aston Martin Vantage V8 manual for a year (its birthday is December 9th), so I'm posting this post to get an opinion, not so much on whether I should buy the sill kits (number 400), but rather to know who has installed them and is happy with the aesthetic result. Perhaps those who have remained faithful to the original line or have even gone back. Thanks for your opinion.

I ve gone down this route so many times in my head, having had my 06 Vantage for nearly 4 years now.

There s a similar one I see parked in the village where my office is, which has had the N400 sills added, and is on DBS wheels.

It looks great. Those N400 sills add something special to the car.

I ve also contemplated Prodrive-ing mine up a bit - take this one for example, which was for sale a year or two ago, (and which I seriously considered,) with the duck-tail lip spoiler, the sills, the wheels, the front splitter etc. Again, it looks absolutely fantastic.

However

I really do now think the early 05-08 cars, with their pure styling, clean body lines etc are cool as fk. Gorgeous rather than aggressive. And true to their origin. Absolutely timeless.

So personally, I d stick to how yours is now smile

Paradoxically, if I ever managed to get into a V12V - I d actually replace the sills with the smooth sills of the early cars I think even Henrik Fisker who designed it did originally did the with his. The N400 sills are better than the V12 sills though IMO

I will add however, I have stuck some spacers on mine, and it’s had some Bamford Rose tuning .. looks/goes/sounds lovely

I have an 08 with original sills and would love to have V12S ones, I’m less keen on the curvy N400 ones, I think the originals date an otherwise timeless design, I bought lights and some carbon first, they’re high up on the what’s next list, paint match to mine is a massive concern though.

It's my own color. On the black color i N400 sillsOn the black color the are really beautiful. I put clear headlights and now the 200 catalytic converter cells are about to arrive to me.
I can't make up my mind. Really. I should see it live in video or photos I don't understand.
There is this cheaper option

I think it will take another 4 years to figure it out 😂

Those are Maxton skirts, really not a fan of screwing into the car…..much cheaper though!

I also have an early V8 Vantage. When I bought it, I was convinced I was going to fit N400 sills, but I’ve changed my mind. I now prefer the ‘pure’ look for its simplicity.

The original body style did continue beyond 2008.

I think the higher rear tailgate spoiler first appeared on the V12 Vantage, so 2009.
On the V8 Vantage, the original body continued until the changes at MY 2012.25.
[0.25 because instead of the usual September model year change point, it was early spring 2012.]

My V8V is 2009 4.7 with lightened flywheel, twin plate clutch, cat 'adjustment' (the up to 2010 type) and the induction modification.
Supposedly around 430 / 440 bhp.
I think of it, as perhaps being in one of the Vantage sweet spots, because it has a little extra power and torque, but the original body styling.

I have now owned this car for 14 years. Can hardly believe that.
21,000 miles, but a completely advisory free MoT record, was spoilt by the selling main dealer.
Just 2 months after purchase, the headlight aims were wrong. Perhaps they only did a 139 point check, instead of 140.

yes agree. I had an 09 4.7 and really did prefer the original look form the side. As it sort of exaggerated the flared arches more.

I abandoned the thought of the N400 sill. I looked at it well from every point of view, it always seems to be a perfect shape, the 4.3 of 2006.

The argument of having sill on vantage v8 applies to me on aston martin vantage 2024 the lines are sharp and less soft.

When I can, I will buy it.
