Dewalt - replacement batteries non original
Discussion
I have an old Dewalt DW907 12V drill (17 years old) which is great for screws and light work as it's small and easy to handle - ideal for doing drywall.
The 1.3Ah NM battery expired years ago and I would like to resurect it but it does not justify a genuine Dewalt battery.
Any recommendations? Loads on Amazon and Ebay that puport to be 4.8Ah for £18 - £20 but no sure if they are safe/any good.

I think there is something to be said for saving a working device from landfill.
The Ah on the eBay specials will be massively overstated. I have a couple for my old Makita drill and impact and yes if you were using them professionally the run time would be no good, but for domestic jobs it is fine.
For things like impact guns the battery technology is crucial to get the performance from the tool, ie OEM batteries.

indeed, but the same battery tech that goes into the Dewalt copy batteries also goes into the funny-brand batteries.
Meanwhile, the tech that goes into the funny-brand drills improves so the 17 year old de Walt drill technology becomes obsolete.
I’ve a 5 year old Makita and a couple of recent funny brand drills and not much between they really.
Agree with saving from landfill however

I bought a couple of copy Dewalt 18v batteries from Ebay for my old Dewalt radio and never had any problems with them, I don't leave them on charge overnight or anything but wouldn't do that with any genuine battery eitherThe 1.3Ah NM battery expired years ago and I would like to resurect it but it does not justify a genuine Dewalt battery.
