Hi Just a quick one regarding the 19 10 spoke forged light weight wheels that I believe were an option on the Vantage S in diamond turned finish and came standard on the N430 is that correct?

Reason for my question is my Vantage S came with the forged 10 Spoke wheels when I bought it a few years ago I have since purchased a set of the standard cast vantage s V Spoke wheels just out of personal preference, I have had the forged wheels refurbished in graphite and had them sat in the garage for some time, they are now getting in the way and have decided to sell them, 1 buyer has asked if the n430 version were forged and the S version not forged. I m sure I am correct In saying they are both the same wheels just the choice of finish? Graphite colour comes standard on N430 and graphite with diamond cut faces on the S as an optional extra instead of the standard S fitment V spoke wheels.
But thought I had better double check with the experts?? Let me know your thought's?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Tom

Forged alloys on N430. Mine for reference, same as you have them painted.

You are right, Tom. For some strange reason (journalism and/or clever AML marketing) people consider Vantage N430 to be something "superior" to V8 Vantage S. It´s an ineradicable nonsense.

Sorry, Steve, the standard MY16 onwards wheels are not forged.

After further research I agree mine as a MY2016.5 model are graphite painted alloys on a Factory special Q painted Ceramic grey car, the 2014-2016 models are forged 10 spoke as per brochure details.

Talk about finding old threads, but i can shed some light on this. According to the broacher at least, the S has 9.5J rears, the N430 10J rears, fronts are the same sizes in a 10 spoke V design

I think the brochure you have is wrong. 10J wheels were introduced with the 'S' and corresponded to larger tyres being fitted front and back - before then the rear wheels were 9.5J. The 9.5J continued being fitted to non-'S' (or 'N4xx' cars) until 12.25MY when the wider rear wheel and larger tyres all round were standardised across the range.

Image is an extract from the 11.5MY Vantage Owner's Guide, showing wheel and tyre fitments

Perhaps we are at cross purposes.

I thought the original question was are the S and N430 wheels the same? Well according to the broucher and all the road tests you would care to read on line from the 2014 N430 introduction, they reverence the unique to N430 10J wide rears finished in graphite as a difference……same tyre foot print but wider rim. If these were introduced later as an option or std on later than 2015 S cars i don’t know. I do agree with your image from above though, the 9.5J were std on the S at that time.

"Darkness falls across the land ...."

LTP is right. V8 Vantage S never had 9.5J wheel rims on the rear axle.

As I said: ineradicable nonsense.

Well thank god for illumination

2023 year Boucher contradicts the above.

Two Aston martin documents saying two different things.

Also whilst just checking that, i happened upon this old thread...... i see your poster 2 with ineradicable evidence on this subject

Don't forget the Owner's Guide also says 19 x 10J

Plus see your brochure, and raise you a brochure

What we need is someone with a copy of "The Definitive Guide" to settle this

I see. Well, I´m sorry that you got confused by such rather sad errors in the 2013 and 2016 Vantage range general brochures. I had never noticed these errors before. So, thanks for the pointer. Nice to have cleared this up now: V8 Vantage S always had 10.0J on the rear axle just like Vantage N430.

Pic of my V8 Vantage S rear wheel rim (10-spoke forged alloy silver painted wheels):

Err, no, I don´t think so. smile I´m afraid the next topic would then be that old chestnut about the "standard" carbon fibre lightweight seats again ....
