I live on the coast and often walk / run around sunrise. I'll go one way then switch and catch the sunrise on the way back.
Pretty much everytime now (including today) there are people live streaming and chatting to their followers.
Whats more odd for me is they're there as I'm heading out, it can be 30-45 mins before and its pretty much pitch black !
What do they waffle on about and who's sitting there watching it.

I do social and particularly this stuff and am quite entrenched in the spud wave. If you knew and were interested in the earning potential of a following you’d not describe it as “time on one’s hands” however watching a lad sweep up astonishes me.

I think I'd still describe it as time on one's hands.

Very happy to say I haven’t got a clue what this is all about and don’t feel I’m missing out. OP, shut your computer down and go outside.

This is (one reason) why I retired. I cant keep up with all this social media stuff.

You need to have a constant presence and be updating so many platforms and keeping on top of it is a full time job.

Plus set one foot wrong and the entire internet joins in with the pile on.

It seems to have filtered down to virtually all businesses too. Even one man band tradies are doing "hey guys today I am unclogging Mr Smiths drains... but before I do check out our sponsor" WTF.

I saw a guy building a wall a few weeks ago and as I walked past he was setting up couple of go pros.

My wife has asked about a few business ideas recently, and I think about it for 30 seconds and then say no thank you... or words to that effect!!

Hmm old PH audience (I’m 62) and rather than shout at aeroplanes I embrace it.

It's 6:39am and I'm reading a thread about 800 people watching a man with a broom.

Once you're in the public domain your life is no longer yours - the whole thing becomes an act.

I'll forgo the millions and stick with a quiet life I think but best of luck to those who don't.

OP "in despair" because over 800 people (like him) are watching a nonentity on social media.

If they're attractive or "outgoing", that's why people watch.

Those watchers might not be in this country at that time ie it might be the evening.

I remember the OP from a thread earlier in the year, the OP creates Tik Tok videos himself ranting about stuff.

One of which was him going on a rant about how Francis Bourgeois is a made up charachter.

The topic sounds reads like one of those weird YT videos which has people gurning on it.

People watch others selling jacket potatoes, is that about right?
