Is anyone noticing that you can't simply browse for an instore product in this place anymore?

If I look for some item's I'm provided with hundreds of external options not from B&Q! Very irritating.

There is a filter on the left where you can select in store once you’ve done a search. It’s bloody awful though, everybody is trying to be Amazon.

It’s always been a frustrating website and yes, I’ve noticed lately how it lists external options and everything has to be ordered.

I went in once looking for an item and couldn’t find it. Spoke to an assistant and told him that the website says it’s in stock at aisle XYZ. He just laughed and said I wouldn’t believe anything that tells you.

B&Q is the biggest store I visit that never ever has what I went in to buy. 20mm m8 self tapper - out of stock. Green house glazing clips - nope, remote pir- not a chance, post mix - haha.

Things I don’t want like illuminated plastic Santa climbing a ladder - no problem choice of 6 designs, the tackiest door handles available- yup take your pick, pack of 12 rolls of insulating tape in every colour except earth coding - sure

The website is truly awful these days.

Even worse is the service when it turns out that that “in stock” products from the third party vendor aren’t actually in stock at all.

It’s a site now best ignored.

I have used the on-line but found it less than user friendly.
Slow, not the easiest to search as the options selection is limited making narrowing down to specific items poor.
I have left comments about the system when asked for reviews but nothing has been done.

Just don’t bother with their online offering anymore. The website and trying to navigate it makes you want to cry.

How can Screwfix get it right and B&Q get it so wrong? Aren’t they owned by the same company?

Anyway, I’ll stick to them and Wickes.

Their head office is local to me and I’ve always fancied working there but their website has always been rubbish and I suspect behind the scenes it is a dinosaur, so put off for that reason.

Their website is useless, and apparently their physical stock control is too. Some things don't exist, some things exist but are in storage not on the shop floor, and they'll have lots of stock of something in one store and a drought in all the others.

Worst bit on their website as has been mentioned is how hard it is to tell in-store from web-only & third party. Makes it useless for all concerned.

None of this stuff should be complicated but they they seem to get it all wrong.

I have no idea if it's true but I've seen it suggested that if you use their trade website you don't get all the crap.

If they say they have only one in stock, it will be the display item as they count them as stock even though they won't sell them to you.

I have given up on B&Q these days.

If you buy something from one of their "suppliers" they invite you to write a review.

However, if B&Q don't like the review, which was poor because the item didn't arrive, despite them saying otherwise, (it really didn't) they simply say that the review failed to meet their guidelines, so they wont publish it - what a joke!

Never again...

Kingfisher are in dire need of new core systems.

Screwfix has always been a separate operating entity. Funnily enough they contacted me in the week about a job advertised.

I'm not entirely a lover of SF ordering system and the fact you need to give all your details every time but stock options and availability next day they are always the first port of call for me.

I have never reviewed anything online, and I have never paid attention to anyone else's either.

The website is irritating. You type something into the search bar then click search. It just keeps bringing the search bar up again and you go round in circles

Easily the worst website of the hundreds I use.
