HK amp dead - PnP replacement?
Discussion
Hi all,
My F33 (2016) with the HK HIFI 676 system seems to have the dreaded dead amp from water ingress. There was only a teaspoon or two worth of water in the compartment but I'm guessing over time the humidity has killed the MOST ring, or whatever it is.
I've pulled and checked 8 or so fuses relating to the amp/radio - all pass a continuity test with the multimeter.
The HK amp has the red and orange lights on inside so power/optical is still working but there's zero sound from any source, including the bongs and chimes, nada.
Assuming at this point it's the amp that's popped, does anyone have experience with direct plug and play replacements?
In the UK I can find Match Up 7/8 (not sure whether it's the DSP with appropriate harness or BMW model), or the other model is a Phoenix Gold ZDAP BMW3 (8 channel), or BMW4 (6 channel, centre speaker channel plays off HU only).
The Phoenix Gold unit is about half the price of the Match Up.
Seeing as this seems to be a common issue, wondering what other folk have done in their experiences..
TIA
