I saw a reference to an independent Porsche specialist being a member of the PPN.
I did some googling to see if there is a published member list so I could confirm but came up short, does anyone know of a current list or do I need to contact Porsche to check?
Considering what it offers to potential customers you would think it be easy to check a specialist is a current member but then again it is Porsche...

There are only 4 or so in the UK. Full details of what it includes is here: https://www.nineexcellence.com/service/porsche-ser...

I thought that it did ... otherwise what is the point ??
The great indies generally know more than the OPC's about the older cars that are out of warranty ... ???
Depends on the Indy and age of the car...some are not as good as they used to be. The great indies generally know more than the OPC's about the older cars that are out of warranty ... ???
When Steve McHale retired the expertise on the older cars walked out the door at JZM and hasn't been replaced (to my knowledge). I haven't gone back....
I've not seen a published list and I doubt Porsche GB would release one. I think the best they would do is inform you of the closest one to your post code. There are quite a few indys around that claim PPN status but I've had no contact with most of them.
Some explicitly state that they can perform warranty work, which would be an odd claim to make if it wasn't true. "If any fault is found that is under the customer s warranty as a PPN member, with communication with the customer, we can perform warranty work."

I have asked 2 on the above list re servicing on my 2016 car and the answer was no in respect of a claim under the extended warranty. They would, of course, be happy to service the car.
I believe the situation may be different for cars under the manufacturer's warranty where the former EU rules apply i.e. the manufacturer can't restrict you to their own dealers providing, I assume, that the garage is competent and uses the correct parts and tools etc.
The extended warranty provider sets their own terms which we either agree to or not.

We can confirm that we are partnered with the Porsche Partner Network (PPN). When we carry out a Service using OEM parts we then update PPN system so that it is visible to the network as to what we have carried out. This will maintain a Porsche Approved Warranty.

There is a lot of confusion and conflicting information regarding PPN servicing and its implications for cars under the Approved Warranty. I was informed by Porsche Customer Relations in October by phone and email that PPN registered independents can service cars without impacting an existing Approved Warranty.
However, when I passed this info to my local PPN specialist, they contacted Porsche for confirmation and received an email stating the Approved Warranty would be invalidated if they service the car.
Over the last week, I've spoken with and exchanged multiple emails with Porsche CR to clarify. They have re-confirmed in writing that a PPN independent specialist can service without affecting an existing Approved Warranty but the last service must be an OPC service if I wish to further extend the warranty before it expires. If I were to renew the warranty after it has expired, then a 111 Point Check would be required, plus an OPC service if the last service had been done by an independent, whether PPN or not.
Porsche CR also informed me that they do not recognise the PPN status of my local specialist, nor two other highly regarded and very well known independents I enquired about who state they are PPN registered on their respective websites. Porsche CR sent me a link to their list of Porsche Approved Specialists, which is actually titled Porsche Recommended Body Repairers. When I queried this, they told me that this is the only list available to the Customer Relations team and as the 3 PPN specialists I'd asked about were not on the list, a service by them or any other independent claiming to be PPN but not on their list would invalidate my warranty. I said I'd pass this on to these 3 specialists and suggest they each need to query their absence from the list directly with Porsche.
Having since spoken to all 3, I've no doubt they are PPN registered. My local independent said they would take it up with Porsche. One of the other two said they had previously obtained written confirmation that they could service cars under Approved Warranty but will query why their PPN status is not recognised by Porsche CR. The other one told me that they could not service an Approved Warranty car and didn't seem interested in my feedback
So to summarise, I'm now confident that a PPN independent can service my car but would want my preferred independent to resolve the confusion over their PPN status with Porsche first so I could get Porsche CR to confirm their PPN status to me. But it also seems that the PPN specialists themselves do not have a consistent understanding of Porsche's position on this and some may be missing an opportunity for more servicing business as a result.

A mate enquired about getting his 992 Touring serviced at Weissach UK and they were explicit that they've had customers have warranty claims denied because they serviced it and not an OPC.
Some had raised it with Porsche GB and still had the claims kicked out-apparently there is a chance of it going legal but for the time being if you want the safety net of the warranty you risk it by going independent.

Many thanks for this ... it is very clear that the last service prior to renewing a warranty must be an OPC ... indifferent as they may be ... and that the concept and status of PPN's seems ambiguous despite what they may have spent with Porsche achieving this status. As always, Porsche can write their own rules and the cheapest insurance warranty in the market may be an insurance that simply does not want to pay out ? However, when I passed this info to my local PPN specialist, they contacted Porsche for confirmation and received an email stating the Approved Warranty would be invalidated if they service the car.

See new exclusions ... ambiguity on PPN's ... massively increased OPC service costs ... ???

As my car came back from a £3000 8 year service .... at an OPC.
