X5 50e folding mirror issues
Discussion
It's been some time since my last posting. I still have my M2C "keeper" but last year we decided to end our experiment with EV's and went down the plug in hybrid route with the new X5. Love the car and it's 60-ish mile electric range is perfect for the wife's local journeys and the 6 cylinder twin turbo petrol engine avoids all the range-anxiety and long recharging times we hated with the EV.
The only issue we've had, twice now, is with the electrically-folding mirrors. They have just chosen not to fold out/back. When they do, it is possible to position them manually but they do not lock in position and the last time this happened, as we set off, after about a mile, they just folded back into the parked position. Potentially presenting a risk/distraction.
Anyone else had these issues? Is it a known problem? Any thoughts on how it might be resolved short of a trip to the local dealer?
Thanks
