Looking for solutions to heat a workshop. Not particularly well insulated.

Circa 12m x 3m. Concrete Floor.

Must be Gas (Tanks - Propane/Calor)

Must be quiet (Current gas heater is c. 100db and you can't really hear much over it)

Suggestions?

Is mains available?
What’s stored in there? anything which gives off heavy vapours? I had a cellulose thinners container that started leaking and the fumes inside were incredible.
Could you improve the insulation?
Bit left field, I once had a set of Dutch army tank crewman’s overalls off a local army surplus market stall. They were amazing, as they were quilted, extremely high quality and I didn’t need any heating!

you would do well to try one of these out.... ok it's diesel and will need a 12v feed but they are quite quiet and you can pipe the heat to outlet where you need it and they come with a remote too so you can start it up before you go in (assuming it's quite close to your house)

Mains Electric is available.

Warm clothing is already in use...!

Gas much better than oil as we occasionally paint in that workshop.

How about something like this?

Although the heat output is nothing to party about

Our workshop is two 40' containers 25' apart with a roof and walls made of kingspan / steel cladding'

We've just got one of those 12v diesel powered heaters for about £80 from Amazon.

Very good for instant dry heat, but one wonders how long it will last.

Its not loud, but you can hear it.

Heating oil is about 50p per litre (in Jerrycans) round here.

Lots of good threads on ukworkshop forum for this as well.

Bog-standard gas heaters will introduce a lot of moisture. Eberspacher-style diesel heaters are better, if you have access to fuel.

A/C mini-splits perhaps are overkill.

I've ended up with a workshop-style wood-burner in the corner (which takes a lot of offcuts), an IR heater I can move around (e.g. if painting/finishing), and a heated gilet. The heated gilets/fleeces are very impressive nowadays.

Not a direct answer but….

I had a heated jacket via usb

My lord it’s impressive

Don’t be tempted by anything this is foil lined, the cheeky Chinese do this because it gives you an instant bit of heat, but then you can’t sweat

the heating is sealed on these diesel heaters, by that I mean the flame part is enclosed and any un-burnt fuel would be sent out via the exhaust which is / should be piped through a wall to the outside.

Just be aware that gas heating will produce a lot of moisture which depending on the workshop could bring its own issues.

They are very good on boats. That one seems very neat - just make sure the exhaust is routed safely.
