I'm looking for a V40 for the wife, I've found a lowish mileage 2016 car with 60k on the clock but I've just noticed on the dealer pics that the steering wheel looks quite worn. Is this normal for a Volvo of this mileage?

No, I had a 2015 with 108k and zero wear on the wheel.

My v40 has 110k and no wear on the wheel. My guess is its clocked.

It's the only auto within our price range, within 50 miles. I don't really fancy traveling too far, it can be pain in the arse if you need to go back to the dealer for warranty work etc.

Have you done an online MOT/mileage check to see if there any red-flags in the mileage year-on-year wrt owners etc?

It is always possible that the wear COULD be a reaction 2 one owners hand-cream/working chemicals etc.

ETA.
A closer look rather than the pic might show it looks like grubby deposits rather than wear to the leather.

Also, check other "frequently touched" areas for confirmation.

Without seeing it in person I agree with the previous poster in that it looks like a build up of the previous owners dirt/handcream/moisturiser or whatever.

Mileage on MOT is consistent. Advisory for front tyres at 33k then another advisory 2 years later for another front tyre wearing on edge at 40k. Offside front spring broken at 36k, then near side broken at 52k. Broken springs seems to be a common thing on these?!

Anyway, I rang up today to ask about service history and query them on the steering wheel but it looks like they may already have someone interested in buying it.

Wife isn’t too bothered an out auto or manual, she’s more bothered about the colour, so going for a manual will give me more options.
