I can recommend the above book. Its about the troubles and the particular role a number of individuals played in it in its early years.

They made it into a TV show which is currently on Channel 4.

Along a similar theme, Agents of Influence and Killing Thatcher are both very good too. I've learnt a lot about NI modern history from these two books.
