My 718 Spyder is in for a service and it’s clear they have some eye opening service extras at Porsche

Front springs lightly corroded £3176 + £666 alignment £3842

Adjust parking brake air gap £333

Exhaust triangle bolts, cat bolts, rear tail clamps £1378.63

Are those prices about right, they seem astronomical

Ridiculous. Perfect jobs for a good indy - if even actually needed....

Just be thankful they're only eye-opening and not yet eye-watering!

I needed my exhaust clamps doing and Porsche wanted an exhorbitant amount of money. When I asked why, they said "Because we'll probaby have to use heat". Yikes. that must be gold-plated MAPP gas they use! So I got a local Indy in Chertsey to do it.

They also quoted a horrific amount to replace my AC condensers, one of which had been pierced by an errant pheasant, both of which were leaking.

I ended up doing the job myself on the driveway.

I really do think OPC.s are taking the p*** these days. For the first time in 35 years of Porsche ownership, I am moving to a local indi for my future servicing work. I do not like being ripped off .

Vote with your feet. They need to feel the pain. But someone's got to pay for that coffee machine, there's mugs out there that will pay that all day without batting an eye lid.

They are taking the piss, take the piss back and get them to put it on a ramp and show you the issues just to waste their time.

It is basically attempted fraud by suggesting parts that are completely serviceable need to be changed. If these parts were in any way dangerous they wouldn't let you drive the car away.

Scumbags.

I'm leaning towards that with items like bolts being flagged as a red and windscreen wipers at £149 for a pair.

They presumably use a complex algorithm.

Think of a Number.
Double it.
Send it to the owner (whilst laughing)

I know on mine the near side front has the funny curve to fit the screen which means you have to either bend the ones from Amazon or fiddle around swapping things over.

I haven't been in an OPC for a few years but it sounds worse than ever. They need a poke with novichok coated stty stick.
